Thresholds that are in our way, that have raised, almost became walls. We can navigate around them. Is it a game?
They are sand, compressed into structures. Tiny grains from mountains and rocks, washed into rivers, carried along and ground down in the water. Stranded, it covers the ground in tons, meters deep. A shining, fine, fluid multitude. It belongs to no one.
Changes, that occur everyday and on a catastrophic level, that affect the conditions of habitation motivate the following questions: How does the human body relate to its material environment? What does it signify when landscapes change? How do rules and ownership work in a world that is in a state of constant transformation?
The artist seeks to challenge a prevailing value system that prioritizes economic considerations.
