To the Unknown: the line is blurred

Abscission from Liquid Amber tree, chalk, augmented reality, performances, 10’, 2023

The artist collects abscissions from a Liquid-Amber tree located outside her atelier and appropriates them by naming them thoughts. The artist aims to draw connections between these representations of natures material reality, chalk lines as unnoticed labour and the AR (artificial reality) component as digital expansions of coding. She uses gestural activations and methods of quantification to question through the work, challenges caused by overconsumption, surplus and overloads and underlying questions of displacement, positioning and embodied knowledge.
